We are excited to announce our next sponsored athlete, Juan Loera.
Here is a little about Juan in his own words...
"My name is Juan Loera, I am an active-duty soldier in the United States army. I love pushing myself to be better than I was yesterday and to always give it everything I have in any endeavor. Having had every leadership position imaginable, it was clear that I loved to lead and train people to be the best versions of themselves.
I’ve been in the army 7 years now and it wasn’t until I was stationed here in Wisconsin as an army recruiter that I was introduced to CrossFit by my great friend and brother in arms Sebastian Jalas. I immediately fell in love with the sport! Having done some pretty elite and gruesome army training, I thought I was a lot more fit than I was. My first CrossFit class left me on the ground in a puddle, and that's when I knew that I was in love with the pain! Although it hasn’t even been a year into this journey, I have competed in a few local comps and just recently got my first win. I have already received my L1 and can’t wait to keep progressing and hopefully will soon begin to coach others on their own journey as well!
In my personal time, I enjoy trail running, rucking, and playing basketball. I have two kids and want to be the best example of fitness and health for them. Some of my goals are to obtain my CrossFit L-2, make the Army Warrior fitness team, and compete representing the best Army in the nation!
I have recently been selected to be an army officer and will be attending Grand Canyon University this fall to obtain my bachelor's in applied management, so sadly, I will be leaving the great state of WI. I would like to thank Truly Giving for this opportunity and my home gym Bark River CrossFit for taking me in and always being supportive throughout this journey. Rangers lead the way."
We are extremely proud to have Juan as part of the Truly Giving family!
